How to Convert HEIC to JPG

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the default photo format on many iPhones. While it saves space, not every app or website accepts HEIC files.

On iPhone

Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible saves new photos as JPEG. For existing HEIC files, share to Files or use Photos export.

On Desktop

macOS Preview can export HEIC to JPEG. Windows users may need a converter or cloud export from iCloud Photos.

Browser Workflow

If you already have a JPEG or PNG export, use our Image Compressor or JPG to WebP tools to optimize for web. Direct HEIC decoding in browsers is limited — convert to JPG first on your device when possible.
